Talking Therapy

What is talking Therapy?

Talking therapy is for everyone. Talking therapy enables you to discuss yourself or your relationship in a non-judgemental, supportive and understanding environment. Therapy for me is working towards an ease of communication along with fun, connection and challenge.

I work with people over 18. I work with relationships and individuals. I am respectful of all gender, sexual and relationship diversities and am LGBTQI positive. I offer therapy in Ipswich, Suffolk and can offer online sessions by Skype (or similar) if appropriate. My space is wheelchair accessible.

What you want from therapy is up to you. If you want to work through and resolve a situation, relationship, decision or event then I can enable you to do so. If you need to talk to someone about something you have never said or don't know how to process I will keep your confidence and support you. Equally if you want to change something about yourself I can explore the effects and possible outcomes with you impartially. I can also help you achieve goals by supporting you and hearing your difficulties. Therapy is a great way to accept and understand yourself by increasing your self-awareness. I have experience working in depth with the following issues:

  • Bereavement
  • Erection difficulties
  • Anxiety
  • Work related stress
  • Orgasm and Arousal difficulties
  • Identity
  • Confidence
  • Shame/Guilt
  • Trust
  • Depression
  • Abuse
  • Addiction

Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy

I can help you talk through, explore and resolve any issues around your sensual self, sexuality, gender, shame, and sexual health either with a partner, partners or as an individual. I am experienced in helping clients work through relationship difficulties including communication, intimacy, lack of desire, orgasm and arousal difficulties. I am respectful of all gender, sexual and relationship diversities and am LGBTQI positive. The issues you bring to the room are discussed sensitively and worked through with encouragement, knowledge, and understanding. Any sexually specific tasks will be set as homework and of course never performed during a therapy meeting.

I offer relationship and psychosexual therapy for relationships and individuals.  This may involve resolving any issues around loss of sexual desire, erectile and ejaculation difficulties, gender specific orgasm disorders, vaginismus, dyspareunia, sexual violence, shame and gender. These issues may also involve societal pressure, judgement and shame and it can be useful to discover what is yours and what is not. Please contact me if you wish to discuss this further.

My belief is that it is better to have a conversation in order to find out if I am the right therapist for you so please contact me to arrange a conversation. I will request a telephone call with you before booking any sessions face to face.

Who Am I?

I am a 36 year old experienced Integrative Psychotherapist and Mental Health Professional specialising in Sex and Relationships. I have a BA (Hons) degree in Integrative Counselling and postgraduate qualifications in Couples Therapy and Integrative Psychosexual Therapy. I am passionate about support and believe that wellbeing is fundamental. My work as a Psychosexual Therapist has highlighted the importance of sensuality, acceptance, self-investment and understanding and I translate that into my commitment to personal and professional development.

I work with people, and understand that everyone has different needs. Understanding, compassion, being genuine and honest are very important values and I bring them into my therapeutic work. I invest in myself and encourage others to do so. I believe support is one of the most important aspects of wellbeing and try to live in a way that supports myself and others. I do not think this is easy, I believe wellbeing is an act of courage and that it takes effort, strength and other people.
