Talking Therapy

What is talking Therapy?

Talking therapy is for everyone. Talking therapy enables you to discuss yourself or your relationship in a non-judgemental, supportive and understanding environment.

I work with people over 18. I work with couples, relationships and individuals. I am based in Suffolk, near Stowmarket but work nationwide through online platforms. I am respectful of all gender, sexual and relationship diversities, and am Kink Aware. I am Body Positive and Sex Positive. I have a Trauma Informed Practice and have many therapy hours experience working with sexual abuse survivors. I offer in person sessions from Stowmarket Suffolk and online sessions by VSee (or similar).

I take my profession, research and ethics seriously. I believe in my work and therefore will believe in you. Our relationship is the foundation of the therapy. I find that new ideas, fresh perspectives and bouts of laughter can be very healing.

What you want from therapy is up to you. If you want to work through and resolve a situation, relationship, decision or event then I can enable you to do so. If you need to talk to someone about something you have never said or don't know how to process I will keep your confidence and support you. Equally if you want to change something about yourself I can explore the effects and possible outcomes with you impartially. I can also help you achieve goals by supporting you and hearing your difficulties. Therapy is a great way to accept and understand yourself by increasing your self-awareness. I have experience working in-depth with the following issues:

  • Sex and Relationship issues

  • Drug and Alcohol Addiction

  • Sexual Abuse in Childhood

  • Sibling Sexual Abuse

  • Loss and Bereavement

  • Communication in Relationships

  • Trauma

  • Orgasm and Arousal Difficulties

  • Desire Discrepancies in Relationships

  • Identity

  • Confidence

  • Shame

  • Guilt

  • Power and Control

  • Trust

  • Depression

  • Sexuality

  • Anxiety

  • Work Related Stress/Redunancy

Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy

I specialise in relationship and psychosexual therapy for relationships and individuals.  This may involve resolving any issues around communication, loss of sexual desire, erectile and ejaculation difficulties, gender specific orgasm disorders, vaginismus, recovery from sexual violence or abuse, gender, sexual pain and shame. These issues may also involve society, environment, pressure, judgement and shame and it can be useful to discover what is yours and what is not.

I am respectful and accepting of all gender, sexual and relationship diversities am Kink Aware, and Body and Sex Positive. The issues you bring to the room are discussed sensitively and worked through with encouragement, knowledge, and understanding. Any sexual or intimate tasks will be set as homework and of course never performed during a therapy meeting.

My belief is that it is better to have a conversation in order to find out if I am the right therapist for you so please contact me to arrange a conversation. I will request a telephone call with you before booking any sessions face to face.

Who Am I?

I am an experienced Integrative Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor and Mental Health Professional specialising in Sex and Relationships. I have a BA (Hons) degree in Integrative Counselling and postgraduate qualifications in Couples Therapy and Integrative Psychosexual Therapy. I am passionate about support and believe that wellbeing is fundamental. My work as a Psychosexual Therapist has highlighted the importance of sensuality, acceptance, self-investment and understanding and I translate that into my commitment to personal and professional development. My past includes work in retail, hospitality, and in both animal and human charity sector jobs.

I work with people, and understand that everyone has different needs. Understanding, inclusivity, compassion, being genuine and honest are very important values and I bring them into my therapeutic work.  I invest in myself and encourage others to do so. I believe support is one of the most important aspects of wellbeing and try to live in a way that supports myself and others. I do not think this is easy, I believe wellbeing is an act of courage and that it takes effort, strength and other people.
